well I can't say I am melanated but my wife is African, and I do this for her, she is a professional photographer right now mostly weddings and such and in the industry, I do see how difficult it can be.
I'm proud of my heritage because What I am proud most about my heritage is we value relationships and quality time, I am of Indian origin but born and raised in Africa, and living in Africa has taught me the value of spending quality time with loved ones and cherishing the relationships you make in your journey and respecting diversity, in my field I engage with all kinds of races and it is important to respect each and every one.
Biggest misconception people haveWell everyone assumes since am Indian I come from money or I speak with an accent, or either I eat a lot of chillies.
Why do you think Diversity matters? It matters because I strongly believe we each learn something from one another no one race is superior or has everything, what lacks in one we find in the other. I mean who doesn't love Indian food, you cannot tell me all the pizza huts compare to that so yeah it matters.
